The presentation you gave was great and this post just added to the analytical depth and impressiveness of the presentation! <BR/>I certainly can see how you're grappling with viewing the untouched norms and their insidious invisibility and power to reinforce the norms while at the same time trying to understand the counter-effect of anime as a genre that actually does try to "do something" to challenge the status quo. The work you've done is really quite similar. By challenging yourself to go beyond the identification and analysis of hegemonic beliefs and norms, you've really endeavored into an intellectual terrain that is quite difficult to grapple with.
